so WHERE in Wilmington is a good quiet, not many college kids partying around, place to live for someone over 30?

If you have a decent job, check out any of the apartment commmunities in the South 17th area. The Keys are a good bet. If you are over 30 and you must rent, forget apartment communities and go for a condo or house rented from a private owner. Affordable rentals are available in the northern New Hanover County area (away from the colleges). North Chase and Alamosa Place are 2 large affordable neighborhoods with plenty of rentals or possibly rent-to-owns.
