The best apartment I've lived in.

One thing I'd like to tell you is how fast the staff will take care of any problem you have.
In our first year there, our neighbors across the hall would fire a gun from their balcony at around 2 a.m. One of the shell casings landed on my balcony (I was wide awake to hear it land). The next day I carefully retrieved the shell casing, placed it in a plastic bag, and showed it to the apartment staff when I reported the problem. Those fellows were evicted from the apartment quicker than you could say "reckless endangerment".
On times that we had a hurricane come through, they were quick to inspect for, and repair, any damages. Any reports of damage or leaks were quickly taken care of.
There was one time that my car needed a jump start. I didn't have long to wait for one of the maintenance personnel come by.

I felt very safe in this complex, since it had its own security system. When you have a $1000 home theater system, a security system is a good thing to have.

The surrounding neighborhood is very nice. You are bordered my nice houses and other nice apartment complexes.

The location is very convenient. You are not too far from the grocery store and other shops. Now that the new Super Wal-Mart has been built in Monkey junction, you also have access to a decent retail store. Places to eat are within a decent drive. The local chinese take out was frequented many times by myself and my roommate.
For you college students, it's about a 20 to 40 minute drive to UNCW (depending on the traffic at the time of day).
Now the beach is a bit more of a drive, but we didn't mind. You have your choice between Wrightsville beach or Carolina beach, both take about 30 to 40 minutes to get there depending on traffic.

The apartment office building is really nice too. There are two pools, one outside and one inside. The fitness center is ajoined by the indoor pool. It has several nautilus machines, tradmills, step machines, and excercise bikes. It also has a TV to watch while you're exercising. There is also a sauna, but make sure you turn it on and preheat it before you start anything else.

I can't give any rating on the laundry room, since we went with an apartment that had a washer and dryer (we're lazy, I know.)

At one time the apartment complex offered internet connection, but we had Roadrunner and didn't want anything less.

We liked it so much that we lived there for 2 1/2 years. If I ever move back to Wilmington and can get another good roommate, I'll definetly go with Crosswinds
