Crosswinds

I chose Crosswinds because it was well within my price range, and because they advertised something called "quiet time" from 10pm until 8am, which appealled to me as a working professional. Thank God I only signed a six month lease. This is by far the noisiest place I have ever lived in-there are nights when I think my upstairs neighbors are going to fall through my ceiling.

Teenagers loiter in front of my porch, if not on my porch, almost every night, yelling and cussing and blasting music from their cars in the parking lot.

Young children seem to have no supervision, and are out running around in the parking lots and grounds until midnight or later-even on schoolnights!

I have had to move my car on more than one occasion to prevent it being hit with a basketball (again, kids seem to insist on loitering outside my apartment) and I myself have been hit with a basketball on several occasions.

Complaints to management have no results-they tell you to call the "special" police that allegedly patrols the complex (in six months I have not seen them once). But by the time you call the police, and they actually show up, the kids have usually wandered off.

In addition to the noise, the grounds and hallways of my building are always littered with garbage. It is really embarrassing to have friends and family come visit, only to tell you that you are obviously living in the ghetto.

The management office posts certain hours that you can come by to drop off rent, file complaints, or whatever you need to do. But they are never there. I was over an hour late to work one morning because I was camped out on the stairs of the management office, during office hours, waiting for someone to show up.

Even now, I cannot seem to catch anyone in the office to sign the papers stating that I will not be renewing my lease.

I cannot wait to leave Crosswinds and actually get a good night's sleep.
