BAD BAD BAD!

Tesla Park is a HORRIBLE place to live. For starters, one of Tribute Properties' employees (her name is a short one that begins with the letter "A") is the most rude, snotty, cold, ugly person that I have ever met in my life. I believe that they recently transferred her over to their newer property in Wilmington, Point South, perhaps because she had totally disgusted everyone living at Tesla Park. An employee such as her is a true sign that upper management doesn't care at all about their tenants or image.
The grounds are terrible. They allow dogs, but they don't enforce poop pick-up, and the grass is burnt out and teeming with fleas. There is a large drainage ditch on the property that is such an eyesore. It is loaded with algae, debris and the reflection of high-tension wires which run extremely close to some of the buildings. Every apartment faces a parking lot, and with all of the UNC students living there, it's impossible to get any sleep, especially on the weekends (unless you're an extremely heavy sleeper and can't hear slamming car and apartment doors, loud conversations, music, etc). The construction of the buildings is less than shoddy, and the apartments are tiny and poorly laid-out. God help anyone living on the second or third floors in the event of a fire. With smoke detectors as your only fire safety devices, and rickety all-wood stairs as your means of escape, good luck. Many of the neighbors are really creepy.
Don't bother voicing any concerns to the staff because they don't care. I received a survey/questionnaire from Tribute Properties about three months after I moved in, and I had a lot of issues which I documented. It went directly to corporate and to one of the higher-ups, but no one contacted me to talk with me about my concerns. I'm not sure why they sent out the questionnaire in the first place. Perhaps to reaffirm what they already know - that Tesla Park sucks.
And for anyone with any concern for themselves, their children or their pets .... FYI .... The entrance to Tesla Park is located adjacent to a HUGE electrical substation. The EPA and other scientific bodies have conducted research which concludes that living within a mile of such a substation greatly increases the risk of leukemia and other cancers, particularly in children. All of the apartments are within less than a fifth of a mile from the station. Google "Nicola Tesla" and you'll see where Tesla Park got its name.
LOOK ELSEWHERE (but not Point South either because of the woman whose name starts with "A"). And don't expect your security deposit back either. They'll squeak every dime out of you that they can.
