We lived here for a while. I can't comment on the old guard because I never met them. As for the new people, they always seemed nice to me.
We got the apartment we were promised, and we thought the rent was reasonable. Of course, we were coming from two really bad experiences, so Ashton Oaks was like paradise to us.
the pros: the apartments are pretty and the layouts are nice. the pool is pretty too, if you care about that. it was in a perfect location for our jobs and shopping. the complex has an onsite car wash and onsite grills you can use to have parties. the unit we lived in had laundry hookups inside, which was very helpful. the power bill here was cheap.
the cons: the appliances were old, and they broke quite often. but maintenance was usually good to us. the kitchen was small and didn't have enough cabinet room. lots of college kids live here, so every night they would be noisy outside. parking was crap. and the gym was lousy, they had an old treadmill and a broken bike, and the TV didn't work. oh, and our bathtub had a mildew problem that was not cleaned when we moved in, and we fought it the whole time we were there.
