I placed a deposit at Ashton Oaks looking to move in. To start my apartment wasn't ready for my scheduled move in date. The day it was as they call "move in ready" I signed my lease expecting that being it wasnt ready for my original move in date it was surly ready. They gave me the keys to "my new home" I go to move my stuff in, and OH MY WHAT A MESS! When I walked in the smell of mold and mildew was horrible. There was mold under the bathroom cabinets, in the closent where hot water heater was, mold all at baseboards, 2 spots from a leaking roof. It looked like someone had used the restroom and let the toilet fill over. The stairs on the ouside of the building was filled with trash. I went to speak to the manager about the un livable condition of the apartment, she wanted to charge a cancellation fee it hadnt even been 30 minutes after signing the lease, and not to mention she hadnt even signed the lease yet. After taking pictures and having to find somewhere else to live, they agreed to give me my money about without a penalty....well that was nice considering I have yet to receive my deposit and the 6 months rent I paid in full, and didnt even move anything in! After contacting their corpoate office, faxes and phone calls I have yet to get an answer on my money! It has been almost 2 months! They are holding over $4000 of MY MONEY! I am having to get my attorney to take over this matter, which will only charge them more to the money they already owe......and they cant even pay their current debt to me. Watch out renters if your late on your rent, to court they go, but to get YOUR money BACK.......SEEK LEGAL ADVICE! Pictues available!
