I have lived in Brandemere for several years. At some point during my years here the management changed hands and became terrible. The air conditioner in my apartment is about 20 years old and fails to work most of the time. Maintenance will come out and ask you the same questions and give you the same explanations of why it doesn't work, but as long as it runs (and uses electricity) they don't care. Electric bills here have become a real financial strain, yet management does nothing, NOTHING to relieve the problem. They told us plainly that replacing the non-functional AC unit would cost them too much money, because it was so old, so basically "tough ----" for us. The AC is so faulty it does not even blow air out in two rooms. I was told two weeks ago I would be contacted by the manager after calling to once again report my AC was malfunctioning, as I write this I am sweating because my AC has completely failed again. When I contacted maintenance today they told me the AC unit was "probably frozen up". I have been told that at least one dozen times. They have replaced the outside unit, the thermostat, several parts from the inside unit, and they have had a crew in our apartment to "clean the vents" (which was a major inconvenience and left dust EVERYWHERE, but failed to change the AC's operation one iota). My electric bills have been THREE TIMES as much as a friend of mine who lives in a 2 floor condo. If you are thinking of moving here DON'T. There are many newer, nicer, and more reliable apartments in the area, even on the same street. The wiring is old, the appliances old, and the maintenance people can't do anything to fix it. It took them three years to get a broken window fixed, and about as long to "fix" my stove after ordering the wrong part at least twice (which didnt fix the stove, still have burners that dont work properly). I have stayed here so long because it is very convenient to my place of employment, but they have forced me to find a new place to live. Brandemere is a nightmare, they don't care about their tenants one bit. I will be moving very soon, please don't make the same mistake I did by moving here!!!

I didn't even mention the upkeep of the outside. Trash is allowed to be thrown everywhere. I read a comment to another post that the maintenance men weren't "trash men". Well, to that I would say that if the management allows people to move in that do not care about the upkeep or appearance of the community then it IS the job of the maintenance people. After they put siding on the building several months ago, they did not replace the numbers on the outside of the building for several months. There are no street signs marking the road the phase I live in is located on, it was knocked down and never replaced. The access panel to the crawlspace underneath the building is almost always open, I have closed it myself only to find it open shortly after. There is no way to secure it closed, the slitted piece of metal that should be secured with a lock is bent so as to be useless. The wiring in the building is so old that getting good cable reception is virtually impossible. DON'T MOVE HERE !!!!!!!
