well at first my roommate and i were excited about moving into a newly constructed 2-bedroom apartment. the day we were expected to move in we started the walk through and it was HORRIBLE. just to name a few things: MOLD WAS EVERYWHERE, BROKEN GLASS IN THE FLOOR, BROKEN WINDOW, WATER PUDDLES IN THE BATHROOMS, CRACKED CEILING IN MAIN BATHROOM, SOAKING WET CARPET, AND THE FRONT DOOR DIDNT LOCK. after telling them they needed to fix those things before we moved in, we were told that it would be okay to move some of our things in until the problem was fixed. this mad me very upset. why would i put my things on a soaking wet carpet and risk my health with the mold that was everywhere''' after our complaints we were told to move into another newly constructed apartment and the excitement came back because it was "new construction". but now i regret every minute of it. we complained SEVERAL times about the COLD air coming in through the front room windows and door, and we were basically told to "stay in your rooms" until we can get to you, to fix it. when they did finally fix the problem, it was almost spring time. which brings me to my next problem, we notified management about the MAJOR ANT problem we had. we were told someone was coming to check into it for us, which really meant "LIVE WITH THE ANTS, BCAUSE WE FEEL THEY HAVE PRIORITY OVER YOU RIGHT NOW". after the 5th or 6th call to the office about the reoccurring problem, the management teams own "home" remedies, and a legal threat the problem was finally fixed. the management team was totally unprofessional, biased, and not timely at all. from the owner to the builder to the office team, PLEASE TAKE A REAL ESTATE CLASS because you guys know nothing about management, struture, or professionalism. I moved to an older model condo and i love it so much. there are no paper walls, i don't have complaining neighbors, i can't hear their conversations, the steps aren't noisy, there are no stray dogs without leashes, there are no bugs (BECAUSE THEY EXTERMINATE ON A REGULAR BASIS...HINT!HINT!HINT!), my landlord (both the owner and the rental agent) are VERY friendly and take the time to explain what i don't understand without getting upset because i'm taking up all their time. those are just a few things i love about my new condo. if you have to move there, just get ready, it seems nice at first, but it's just a crappy place taking all of your money. AND, i don't have to pay for water!!!!!!! HINT!HINT!HINT!***oh and the safety issue, NOT SAFE AT ALL, my car was broken into the first week there, my front door didnt lock very well at all, and it took 2 weeks for management to get me a good working lock, after i begged them to change the lock....**PLEASE BE CAREFUL BEFORE SIGNING THE DOTTED LINE.
