I currently live at Carlyle Place... At first it seemed great then a few months ago an apartment was broken into. Since then three vehicles have been stolen 2 of which were returned one totaled. Its not uncommon for your personal items to be stolen from your car or from your home if you walk out your door to check the mail. After being banned from the property one man approached a women in the dark. In addition to this the on-call police officers that live in the property don't return phone calls!!! There are large numbers of people outside at all hours of the night playing loud music and drinking in the parking lot. The buildings don't have enough parking spaces for each apartment to have 1 car, so its a battle to find a parking space at all hours of the day.

The maintenance leaves something to be desired! Several building have shutters falling down or completely off the building (including the office window) the stairs have nails sticking out of them which tore our furniture while moving in. There are numerous security lights out throughout the property, trash laying on sidewalks and clothes in the yards and stairwells (including mens underwear). The fire alarm that is in the stairwell is hanging out of the wall in my building, although I have complained many times about this all maintenance had ever done is place it back in the hole without securing it so it falls back out within hours! There is also a large hole in the storm grate outside the office building finally maintenance placed a board over it, but if you have children you will live in fear that they will fall in! Inside the apartments the paint is not washable so forget cleaning the dust off baseboards because you wash the paint off too. Everything shows on the walls, if you brush up against them with your clothes or other objects it leaves marks (again you can't clean the walls the paint washes off)! The carpet appears to be in good condition when you move in, but after living in the apartment for a month or so everywhere you walk the carpet gets matted. It doesn't matter how many times you vacuum it still looks dirty. The maintenance guys are known to come inside the unit and leave the door open while inside not only letting your heat or air out so you are paying to heat and cool the outdoors but also allow your pets to get outside! I have questions about the electrical work in the building, sometimes when you flip a switch in one room the light flickers in another one, maintenance came to look at it (they are not electricians) but said they didn't see it do anything!

If you go to the office staff to complain, forget about something actually being resolved! I personally have requested that the security lights that are not working in my building be replaced 5 times over the last two months without any results. Loud parties go on weekly without any consequence(even when the police are called). Forget going outside at night alone, its just not safe!!! If you ask to get out of your lease the management informs you that you will have to pay around 3,000 dollars in order to leave because they charge back concessions and make you pay a 60 day notice and also make you sign a lease addendum that allows them to charge a 2 month breach of contract fee.

Please don't move here! If you do bring a large dog for your own protection!
