Hey, it's not perfect but it hasn't been that much trouble for me...

Wow, I read all the previous reviews and I'm shocked.
First of all, our situation was unique when we moved in. We were in an AWFUL aprtment (the Ledges)and needed to move yesterday. We signed the lease on a Sunday (back when they were open Sundays) and moved in that night. It was already clean, we just had to wait for utilities to turn on. A friendly neighbor loaned us a flashlight. They had no problem with our pet at the time (snake; we now have cats) and since we had no jobs having very recently moved we had to pay a few months ahead, which I had planned for. All in all, at the time the place was a blessing, since no one else nearby even had a unit available.
Now, I have no children, so I cannont rate the availability of playgrounds, etc. I don't use the pool, laundry facilities (I have a w/d in my apartment) or the fitness closet- I mean "center". I'm a student, so I use school facilities for that. But I have never had a problem with paying rent or being told it wasn't paid. I have never had a major problem with repairs. Of course, coming from California apartments, the land of high rent and no service, I attack things different. I walk into the office with a list and my digital camera with photos of what I want fixed and I call back before close of business if it hasn't already been fixed. And most of my maintence problems have been fixed the same day. I've had to have minor leaks fixed, a faucet replaced (it caused the leak) and a cabinet interior replaced; I had them re-linoleum our bathroom, replace the motor in our A/C and replace some dying electrical "burners" on our stove. We had one tile come loose in the shower, and they replaced all of the lower tiles and the backing behind it to prevent mold. It sounds like a lot, but we've been here almost two years and the building IS older.
I am also an insomniac (it's now 2:12 am on a friday night) so I CAN attest to night time activities. Yes, the walls are thin, and you can hear your nieghbors, but that's apartment living. We are on the second floor so heat isn't usually a problem, but the A/C works fine in the summer. When we first moved in there were a few occasions that large, loud groups of people hang out in th eparking lot - I haven't seen them in a while. Yes, you will see police officer's cars BECAUSE THEY LIVE HERE. Hell, they get a discount, wouldn't you'
Bottom line, I like it here. It's a place to stay for me, a private dorm for my husband and I and our pets. The rent is cheap, so don't expect a $1200 a unit experience- which, by the way, is what you'd have to pay for a two bedroom of this quality in California. I'm sorry for the people who wrote the previous reviews, but they must not have lived in my area, because I haven't seen all of what they are talking about.
