Rent began at $745 and 2 years later was $825. Asked manager to explain continued raise in rent (because there are reasons for that). I got two different answers from her and her assistants. Assistants always had an attitude. Apartment maintenance was never conducted in a timely manner. Managers never stay around long enough to establish a relationship. During this time the following occurred: Car was vandalized, people constantly parked in front of garage, locked entry doors were always propped open, a drunk man with a butcher knife roamed the hallways and kicked a hole in my wall at 5:30 a.m., fire alarm constantly rang, once manager allowed it to ring for several hours before the fire department was allowed to come over (as if to punish us to allow it to ring), I paid a $100 redeck fee when I moved in and never reimbursed - still fighting over that, a child molester was allowed to move in and management never told us, and 5 residents (including me) moved out because of management. I also complained to regional management several times to no avail. If you move in there...good luck.

What part of "fee" don't you understand???? Do you expect a refund for other fees you pay like parking fees? Also, why would they ask you for two separate deposits/fees if both were refundable - that makes no sense - if it was all refundable then it would be one, not seperated. The redec fee covers cleaning and turnover expenses and is non-refundable. Many management companies do this, even if it's called something else. In regards to rent increases, it's unfortuneate, and I will agree Goldmark is sometimes higher than other companies, but the fact is, rents will always increase. If you owned a property, would you expect your property taxes to remain the same each year? Right now apartments are in very high demand in Bismarck. Just like anything else, when demand is high, costs go up.
