Don't completely rely on the reviews posted here

I recommend people considering Dakota Park to not rely too much on the reviews on this site. Go to there office and talk to them directly about the issues posted on this site. The girl at the office actually opened this site when I brought up the "move out" issue, and read reviews and explained what really happened. One thing that is not clear in some posts is that they only replace the carpet in your apartment after you move out if you have made large stains. And when they do, you don't pay for the entire cost, but a percentage of the amount depending on the number of years you lived in the unit. I was told the people who were charged more money were the ones who made big holes in the wall and cracked the bath tub (and other major damages).
Go and talk to them if you're considering Dakota Park!

Don't completely rely on what Dakota Park personell tell you. It is usually false and they are only trying to protect their job.

Out of the 6 places I've rented during College, Medical school and residency I've only had a problem with one of them... and that was Dakota Park, and I only lived there for one year. No where else did I have any issues getting my entire security deposit back. Renters have to realize that they can say whatever they want to get you to sign a lease. Dakota park feels they have the right to charge for wear and tear changes to steal your security deposit, and in my case try and charge you more. If you live at Dakota just start building your case to defend yourself from these fraudulent claims, photograph everything. I asked for their evidence regarding the supposed damages and they had none, because they and I know there was none. Even the man who cleaned my carpets felt the place was very clean and did not see any stains, especially any stains that would require replacing all of the carpeting. The fact that so many different people are saying the same thing on so many different websites really reassures me that what they tried to do to me was not an isolated incident, but it is actually their bussiness practice, which according to ND renter right statutes is illegal. All of these "anonymous" postings trying to support Dakota park are likely current residence who have not tried to leave yet, and therefore don't know the problem, or they sound like employees of Dakota Park.
