When my husband and I first moved in to these apartments we were back up resident managers who checked people in and out of their apartments. We were also informed that when we moved out, the carpet cleaning would be taken out of our deposit. When we moved out six weeks ago they wouldn't let us check out until we showed a receipt of carpet cleaning. I was upset about this, but did understand that policies can change and complied to everything they asked for. Last week we recieved a letter from them (or first notice to us) that we owed them $1700 and the notice was past due and we would be sent to collections soon. My question is, how can we be past due on this bill when this was our first notice and we only moved out six weeks ago. They are trying to charge us for brand new carpet, a brand new fridge door, new blinds and $100 worth of cleaning. This company is trying to screw us, and by the looks at other reviews trying to screw everybody. We will be taking this company to SMALL CLAIMS COURT if necessary for consumer fraud.
