DO NOT RENT HERE!

Years at this apartment: 2008 - 2009
I lived at Autumn Ridge for over a year and initially it seemed like a good deal considering they are newer apartments and it was in a quiet neighborhood. After a month of living there, I realized I was in for a long year.
The building itself was poorly built. The walls are so thin, you can hear everything around you. I was on the second floor and the tenants directly aboved me had children who I could hear running around all day. I understand that kids will be kids but this was happening outside of quiet hours. (6:30 AM!) I talked with management and they told me they would speak to the tenants. The next day, the noise was even worse. I was in my living room and my pictures were shaking on the walls. I decided after that I would not complain again because it only made things worse.
This winter was also very bad due to the blizzards and extreme amounts of snow we had. The parking lot is back behind the buildings so you have to drive around through the garages and for some reason, they always get plugged with snow. Don't expect to park in your garage in the winter the openers stop working when it's too cold and when I tried to open mine manually, it was always frozen. Even when it warms up to where you'd think you can use the opener, the garage is filled with 2 inches of water which then freezes and makes it impossible to stop. Needless to say, I used my garage maybe 2 weeks over the winter.
Here are some other problems I had with Autumn Ridge...
The doors are always propped open...so don't expect the building to be secure. You'll get many creepy solicitors knocking on your door.
There is something wrong with the hot water...it never really gets hot.
If the washers are broken...they will stay broken and others will use them which leaves the floor of the laundry room covered in water.
Management does not have any sort of policy on dogs and cleaning up after them. I actually walked into my apartment during the winter and caught a girl in the entryway holding the leash of her dog while it was outside taking a crap on the sidewalk where everyone walks!!!
In the year I lived there, the exterminator had to come spray at least 5 times. I never had a bug in my apartment, so I guess it just depends on how you live.
You pretty much have to go to the management office to deal with anything. If you call, you'll get a voice mail, and if you leave a message, it will go unreplied.
I initially signed my lease for a year at 710 a month and when that was up, my rent was raised $75. So, my advice, if you're going to be paying that much, go to Legacy or Gallery. The buildings are better built and worth the money you will be paying.
