Do not rent from here

I lived here for a year and a half and hated it. We only got one parking space for a two bedroom. The lights on the outside of the buildings were often burned out, making it unsafe to walk from the parking lot or through the courtyard. The carpet was that industrial carpeting used in schools (very unwelcoming). They are small, with small kitchens. The hallways smell very bad. The apartments are very old, and we had to argue with the management to fix anything. Our patio door needed to be replaced because it was a struggle to open it. It was so hard to open, the door handle broke completely off every two weeks. The management said the door didn't work because we used it too much. Hello - it's a door, it's meant to be used! The staff seemed friendly enough, but they were not helpful with repairs.
We finally left when they increased our rent to $625. There are zero ammenities to the apartment, except that it's five minutes from UND. It is definitely not worth $625.
