Don't live here...
From: rentergirl34Date posted: 3/10/2008
Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007
lived in the 2523 3 bedroom, 1 bath bottom apartment. The building was quite old, and not really suited for three college roommates sharing the place, as extra storage in the apartment pretty much doesn't exist. There was one small coat-type closet in the hallway that we ended up using as a place to store food. The kitchen is really small and doesn't offer much counter/cabinet space. Our cabinets were always packed full even tho we probably didn't have nearly as much as a family would have.
You could tell the floor had been damaged in the flood, as it was uneven and you could definitely tell when walking across it. There wasn't much of a dining room-- more like the extention of the living room/entry way (since it was one big long rectangular room), but we didn't use the dining table much, so it worked.
Management wasn't that good. When we first moved in, one of the screens was missing from bedroom windows, and they told us they would get that replaced that week. We moved out a year later & it still was missing, despite us telling them about it every month when we paid rent for the first half of the year. Also, our diswasher broke, and it took them 5 months to fix it, even tho, again, we reminded them of it every month.
There is assigned parking, but for the three bedroom, you only get one space. The rest of the people have to park in the unassigned middle parking section, which, for the four buidings it was serving, was never enough space. When I would get home from work (not even that late) they were all taken and I would have to park on the street.
For the 8 apartments that were in my section, there was only one washer and one dryer, and the dryer was broken more than it worked. You were lucky if they weren't taken when you wanted to wash you clothes, because most of the time they were.
The walls were thin, and when my neighbors would cook, the smell would seep into our apartment (and they used some horrible smelling spices) so our apartment always smelled.
It is nice that it's so close to campus and the city bus stops right in front of the complex, so that is very nice.
One positive thing was that the landlords were very nice and when we were looking to move in, they were very patient with first time rentors.
