Do your research before renting at Fontenelle. The problem with some of the apartment buildings is drainage issues, old construction, and a lack of proper maintenance. In one year I had two problems with water damage in my apartment. I lived on the bottom floor, which is partly underground. My neighbor above me had his garbage disposal back up. I came home at 6 pm and found my kitchen floor full of water. I called maintenance and they came over right away and fixed the disposal. They did not fix the cabinets or flooring which continued to smell like dirty, stale water.
About six months later I came home and my carpet by the storage closet was soaked. Maintenance came out the next morning and found a wall full of mold. Two walls in the storage closet were covered in blue and black spots. They left an industrial blower on the carpet to dry it. They cut out the "infected" drywall and replaced it. That was it. They never replaced the carpet, carpet padding, or trim around the doors. I asked to get out of my lease 15 days early and they said the apartment was still livable. It smelled SO bad that I couldn't stay there. All of my belongings smelled like mold and I had to decontaminate everything after I moved out.
Pros: The maintenance guys are wonderful, but they only do what the management allows them to do. The snow is usually removed within a few hours (even at 4 am on Sunday). The view is gorgeous year round. HUGE deck space! Some apartments have wrap around decks. Every apartment has a brick wood burning fireplace. Military discount!
Cons: There aren't enough parking spaces for each apartment building. You may have to trek up a hill or two in the winter. Dogs run around without leashes. Pet owners aren't required to clean up after their pets. My friend's car got broken into. The outdoor lighting can be dim in some areas. The staff is hit and miss. If you've had issues with them they are less likely to help you out.
