I'm glad that my fellow recent renters have had an enjoyable time here, but this place has been nothing but a headache to us since we moved here and we have only lived here a month! I should have known before we even signed the papers that the staff was going to be unhelpful. They could not understand that I did not live in Omaha, but 3 hours away, and that I couldn't drop in whenever they saw fit. Though we still decided to move here because it fit our needs. BIG MISTAKE!!! When we moved in we came into an apartment that was less than acceptable. There were things broken and missing with a shoddy paint job; everything stationary had a thin mist of dried paint that we had to scrub off. When we turned in our check in list, they said that they were so sorry and that this never happens, they were so embarrassed, and that the person responsible for this would be fired. No mention of compensation until we did, but the scary lady that we were dealing with did not have the ability to approve that, so the manager would have to call us. So we wait and wait until the week before rent is due before we have to call them. When I called him, he laughed at me and my disappointment saying that there must have been some miscommunication in the office. When he asked me what I thought we should be compensated for, he began to argue with me that a week was way too much and that we should have just called the emergency maintenance to wait for them to fix everything so until the apartment was in move-in condition and that this wasn t a big deal because he s human and makes mistakes (mind you it was raining the day we moved in and at that time, things still were not fixed properly so I guess we would have had to wait a month before moving in). Being an adult, I settled to what he thought was best and he explained that we would receive a note on our door with the new amount that we needed to pay for the next month, which was only about $40 less. Well we waited again until the day before rent was due, and still no note--big surprise. So we had to go down to the office ourselves to find that there was another miscommunication and that no one had been told that we needed compensation for their poor service. Finally we thought everything was fixed. Until a week later when we began receiving notes saying that we did not pay our cable and internet and that it was soon to be disconnected. Again having to waste our time to go down to the office to fix their mistake, the resident manager said that he still didn't know that we were supposed to receive compensation, even though it was in their computers and became defensive. Hopefully that s all done now, if not, I don t know what I ll do. Maybe this all could have been solved if we were able to view our actual apartment instead of some fancy model apartment, but we were unable to because it s their company policy to not allow new renters to view an apartment that is not in move-in quality. Again, I guess we needed to wait another month to move in.

I really don t see what the problem is in the office or how they cannot communicate about their customer s needs because all they do is sit in the office all day and talk to each other. I m glad that my rent dollars are going to hard workers.

Oh yeah, what s with the lawn sprinklers and sod laying techniques'!' Last time I checked, grass didn t need to be watered every other hour or the driveways (seriously there s rivers at times). Again, I m glad that my rent dollars are going to a good water bill.

Overall, we really like the apartment itself because it's a good area (Wal-Mart s only 5 minutes away), pretty cheap rent, a washer/dryer in unit. We too would change things, but nothing really major. We can hear the neighbors in the hallway at times, but it's an apartment so I wouldn't expect anything different. The internet is slow and there aren't that many channels, but that's the choice we made because it's cheaper to go with the cable and internet that they offer. You do have the choice to get another brand's services; you just have to pay for it. We've never had problems with the TV cutting out for minutes either, just now and then. If you do have to deal with the staff, I recommend only talking to Amy because she has been the only helpful and apologetic person that we have met here.

It's really sad that with all these benefits, we want to move out already because we feel like unwelcomed customers.

I'm so sorry to hear about your experience. Did you move into a brand new apartment or had someone lived there before? As for the male office person that you spoke with, do you remember if his name was Justin? If that is the case, he is a jerk. He is very unprofessional and cocky.

My apartment had a paint film too! It literally melted in the bathroom when we moved in and started taking showers! Didn't even think about trying to get compinsated for the repairs I did myself. I have been having troubles with my drain lately, because that cover for the drain is impossible to remove hairs, and then you get the pull out enough for locks of love when it gets clogged.
