We have been living in these apartments for a little over a year and we are READY TO MOVE

Postives: We shopped around quite a bit before we moved in here and most undoubtedly, these apartments have one of the best floor plans. The front to back floor plan as they say is the best I have seen in Omaha so far. There is plentiful of ventilation in all apartments no matter which building you chose. We live in a one bed room apartment and the size if kitchen and cabinet space is amazing for an apartment

Negatives:
These building are very very poorly built. You can hear just about anything. When someone opens the main building door, you can feel it as if they are opening your apartment door. And you can hear anything that people talk in the neighboring building. When people staying on top of you walk, you can feel as if they are dancing on your head. We constantly fear the some day the people living above us will end up falling into our apartment (that how bad it sounds). I hate to be too descriptive but we can feel their bed during night and we hear the people moaning. That??s quite a bit of distraction!!

In addition, the appliances provided are not of great quality. They look neat and new but don??t function. There is no indicator on stove to show when over is heated, so you just have to guess. Not a big deal though! And the size of the stove is smaller than usual. The kitchen sinks leaks (which are not expected of a relatively new construction). The apartments boast of free heating but the thermostat is quite a piece of art. It never shows the correct temperature and when we attempt to make it above 75 F, it stops working and you freeze.

Mail is a big issue here. There is no outgoing mail box and we hate to put our mail outside hoping the mail man to pick it. Especially when we know we have big issue with incoming mail. We always get our neighbors mails and someone else gets our mail. I am not sure if this is a feature of this community to have residents play mail game pretending to be a mail man and delivering each other??s mail every evening.

Now coming to the office staff. They are very friendly and sympathetic when we go to the office to lodge a complaint and ask them to fix things. When it is the time to actually fix it, we see a note in the apartment quoting some explanation on why it cannot be done. I think that is their way of dealing it. When we wanted to move to a 2 bed room some time during our stay since we expected our families, one the ladies there said that they cannot accommodate us at that point. Though we asked her 2 months ahead. She told us that they have a waiting list and they care more about getting new people into the community rather than satisfying existing ones!! That??s some thing for customer service.

These apartments do not have secured entrance and the reason those ladies gave us was ??This is La Vista??. Then why lock the rental office'' Just leave it open and show us an example. We do not have a fitness center. It is amusing to see the apartment increasing rent year after year but doesn??t think of providing any additional facilities. Hello!!!

Conclusion: These apartments are cheap (not anymore) but not decent. AND they are not worth what we are paying for.
