When we moved in we were told we wouldn't be able to hear the train, because there was a bridge and the trains weren't allowed to blow the horn when going under the bridge. There is a building between ours and the tracks and still there are times the whole building shakes from the trains. We left our windows open one night and every time a train came by we could hear the loud squealing from the breaks, it woke both my husband and I up multiple times throughout the night and we are both extremely deep sleepers.
Also this past winter, the cement in front of the outside doors rose preventing the door from opening all the way, I came home one day and the door wouldn't open. They ginded down the cement, but this only caused a place for the snow/ice to collect resulting in the door getting frozen shut. To fix this they put a fine grain sand in front of the door, this didn't melt the snow/ice it just made frozen sand. Finally after complaining they hack sawed in inch off of the door. This allowed water to flood the entrance. Just doesn't seem very efficient.
