Fair and Balanced Review Some Minor Flaws But Great Apartment Overall

I've lived here since 2005, and the first apartment I lived in was on the third floor. Nice looking, but heating was terrible. It was always cold in the winter time. I don't know if it was the vaulted ceiling, it facing the north, or just the insulation. The neighbors next to me had some domestic issues, and I'd hear several yelling fights and throwing/slamming of objects late at night. They did end up moving out. Parking was great, always got a spot near the door. Snow removal was horrible, had to wait all day for the truck to come through on one very snowy day! Management was great, I switched to a smaller apartment when my lease was up, and they automatically switched my deposit over, not taking anything out of the deposit! Candace, the main manager, was very helpful. She is always willing to help. They were also very accomodating with my transition to the smaller apartment on allowing me to move some of my things in early.
My smaller apartment has been great, barely any noise issues...when I first moved in the people below me would blare their music so loud that my floor slightly vibrated! It happened a couple of times late at night, but they must have moved out since I haven't had that issue for almost a year now. Now I have no noise issues, it's awesome! It wasn't as clean as I had left my last apartment, the toliet, bathtub, and sink were slightly dirty. I live on the second floor now and the heating issue isn't as bad. It'll get down to 66 degrees before I turn the heat on. The snow removal is ok...still have to wait for the trucks to come through. If it's a terrible storm...count on waiting to get out. The sidewalks on the backside of the apartment are terrible! Iced over most of the time, you have to be very careful as salt is rarely put down. I called the staff about the issue and they fixed it immediately! They were sure to watch it on days after that too because I'd see extra salt put down, no one must've called them about it I suppose. I'd love to stay here but I'm trying to save money for a house and every time my lease is up my rent gets raised. They do give three lease options which is very nice, overall I'd highly recommend this place!

To happywoman77: if you're thinking of moving to a house or less expensive apartment to save money, I was able to do just that. I left my lease at Harrison Hills early with no penalty and no costs to move into a new place. I'd be happy to tell you how, and you can get a discount off your first month rent in a new apartment. Email me at ny_219@yahoo.com to find out more.
