I moved to Lincoln from out-of-state and chose Amberwood because they would accept my large dog. Since I chose it sight-unseen, I swallowed my disappointment when I moved in. At first appearance, the buildings don't seem that bad. But upon further investigation, the bathroom floor had water damage, the blinds didn't work, the cupboards were very old and the closet doors didn't work. During the first several months I lived here, I more or less accepted that the place was an absolute dump, but the management was very cool and left tennants alone for the most part. You take the good with the bad... But in September the complex was purchased by a company out of the Kansas City area and things went from bad to worse. This management is impossible to deal with. They never send maintanence in a timely manner, they have no regard for tennants needs, they make promises they do not intent to keep, and I personally have seen the office manager literally scream at tennants. I hate it here and luckily they refuse to accept large dogs anymore, so I have to leave. Actually, that was the new rule, but since they are losing business, they have begged me to stay and are willing to "bend" their own rules for the sake of $$. I hate it here (I only repeat it because I want you to understand) and would never ever refer anyone, not even my worst enemy, to this hellhole. Yes it snows into the apartments in the winter, my heating bills were over $100 a month and my summer cooling bills were in excess of $150 a month and it was still miserably hot in my apartment. Please, I beg of you, reader, do not move here, do not give these people any of your money. The girls in the office are very sweet, but they should consider employment elsewhere. Don't fall for the line of crap of how great this place is going to be. It is the worst place in the country to live. Seriously.
