What a joke. I've lived at the place since August of '06 and can't wait to get out of here. The craftsmanship and the way the place is put together is God-awful at times. For example, all of the cabinets and closets in our apartment aren't even at all. Also, we have a two-floor apartment with three rooms and since the doors were crappily put on as well, our door upstairs allows too much heat/cold to escape, causing our heater/A.C. to continue to run and cost us money (our first couple electricity bills were like 110 bucks until we figured out the problem, it's about 80 now that we put a towel at the bottom of the upstairs door to help). There is a huge stain in the carpet just outside of our door in the hallway, they do the bare minimum when it comes to scooping snow and putting down salt (whoops, they don't do that) when it does snow. The office is open only 5 hours a day (1-6) on weekdays, isn't open on Saturday even, and they even took off the Friday before Christmas (the 22nd) because apparently it'd kill them to work normal hours. As another person mentioned, it is a good place to come and party at as most people there are college-age, but the cops also watch the place pretty well too since they know that (one of my roommates got MIC when he was sitting in his car waiting for someone; I see cops sitting in the parking lot 2-3 nights out of the week). If you're attending SCC, you're at least only a few minutes away walking, so that's a perk. But, the rent is overpriced for the quality of apartments and they also require you to put down a deposit that's as much as your monthly payments ($770 for us). They only offer you a one-year lease (which sucks since we only need a 9-month lease, but I guess that's also out of the realm of possibility with them). I looked through our lease and tried to find any loophole into how we can get out of the lease after SCC's classes end in the beginning of June, but have yet to find one or any clause about us ending our contract. As far as location goes, you're a 10-15 minute drive away from downtown, Southpointe is 20-25 minutes away, although you are about 5-10 minutes away from Gateway Mall, so it's not very close to much as it is on the far east edge of Lincoln. Parking can be a nightmare especially on weekend nights. You have people parking in places they technically aren't supposed to and sometimes most of the stalls by your building are taken up by people coming to party, so it can be terrible at times. The reason we rented these apartments was because my dad wanted us to since they're close to SCC, but it was a mistake and I will never recommend these apartments to anyone. The employees and owner are terrible and this place is a joke overall. Yes, there are many apartments that won't even allow you to have a cosigner if you're 18, but there are enough quality ones that are somewhat close to SCC for you to look towards living at those rather than the dump known as College Park Apartments. I could go on and on, but after living here about 6 months, I can tell you that I become more sick of this place each day.
