Mostly good; the bad was from the corporate office

I lived here for two years. I arranged the apartment while I was living in another (southern) state. I was concerned about the winter cold in Nebraska so a major selling point for Lionsgate was that heat was included in the rent. Before I signed the lease, I made a point of asking them to show me where it said heat was provided and commented that that was why I had chosen them over other comparable complexes in the area.
A few weeks after I signed the lease, I got a letter from the corporate office saying they had decided to exercise their option not to include heat anymore and that I would now be responsible for paying my own heating bill. Toward that end, they were having the gas company convert every apartment to its own meter. It was obvious that this was something that had been planned for quite a while; the gas company could not have undertaken such a large conversion on no notice.
When I talked to the women in the front office about this fraud, it was obvious that they had been kept in the dark by the front office and were now having to take the heat (pardon the pun) from all the tenants. Lots of people moved out, and I planned to when my lease expired but it was just too much trouble at the time so I stayed another year.
Despite this fraudulent conduct, I liked Lionsgate. My apartment was unbelievably quiet. The place was exceptionally well insulated (probably because when they built it they included heat in the rent) so my heating bills were always very low, which contributed to my decision not to leave. The women in the front office were very friendly and responsive. If anything, maintenance was too good; it got annoying having to shut my cats up in one bedroom (because they're scaredy cats) every time they were going to come in and change the air filter.
Overall, I would give Lionsgate and outstanding grade. The only flaw was the dishonest and fraudulent behavior of the corporate office.
The rental amount I've listed included a garage and "pet rent" for two cats. I don't remember what the actual apartment rent by itself was.
