After my experience at the Lodge apartments in Lincoln I am fairly certain that there must be money 'mis-managment' occuring. For example, the facility is receiving HUD funding...or has some sort of voucher program. I have been asked to turn in employment verifications despite the fact that I do not particpate in the HUD program and pay over $600.00 per month for a one bedroom apartment. It seems that a 3.5 million dollar renovation (that is clearly not a quality renovation) and HUD funding programs would gaurentee a well-kept property. Furthermore, I would be remiss to not metion their falsified advertising practice. For example, the prices listed on their website are NOT the price you will receive. They do not pay for water (and the bill has raised twice this year...I pay $25.00 extra a month for WATER!), sewer or trash removal. They will take you for all you have and then some.

I actually feel very bad for the management. They are very nice and helpful but obviously are not supplied with adequate resources to assist residents. If I had to do their job, I would feel like a cheat. Several of them have admitted to me that if they were not receiving free or discounted housing they would not be able to afford the complex rent based on their current salary.
