I signed a 12-month lease and can not wait to move!!! When we were shown the apartment, the lady told us we could get an accent wall painted for free and showed us the colors to choose from. They were also running a 1-month Free Rent special when we looked. When we moved in we were told we could not get 1-month free of rent and that an accent wall was not free. After arguing with them that we were told this when we moved in the finally said "Oh, she doesn't work here anymore." and reluctantly gave us the accent wall and free month. The office hours are 9-6pm Monday-Friday but every time I call between 5 and 6, NO ONE ANSWERS! I swear they leave early! I have even stopped in at 5:30 and no one was there. How am I supposed to pick up my packages when the office staff leaves early' Finally, I had a cat and prepaid my rent and cat fee for 4 months. I had to give my cat away and it was like pulling teeth to get the balance of the cat fees that I had paid back. I had to set up an appointment for them to come "inspect" the apartment and had to call several days to make sure that they had come. Then, they would not issue me a check for the credit on my account, they expected my roommate to pay $45 less rent and then pay me $45....is that necessary' How hard is it to write me a check for $45' Our lease is up at the end of May and we are both moving out before then. Our neighbors said they inspected their apartment with them when they moved out and told them if they didn't clean better the office would charge them $20 an hour for the cleaning that had to be done and that would come out of their security deposit. Not to mention that they automatically keep money from the deposit to clean and paint! The apartments were nice and unless you have to deal with the office staff, this is a nice place to live...just avoid the office at all costs!

It's not legal for them to charge a "sanitation fee" since it's not in the contract. I checked with an attorney friend of mine.
