I ve been at Tanglewood for a year and while it is conveniently located, there are some cautions I would like to make. First, because of its location, the apartment is mostly booked. Better rooms are hard to find and the ones coming out don t give you much choice. Hence one of the biggest drawbacks is that you usually can t inspect a room before you move in so you don t know what you d be getting. The model they show you is not going to be representative at all of what you d be getting. Tanglewood is by a creek and because of this, there are a lot of bugs breeding and making noises around. At around 8pm during the spring, summer, and fall season, they will make a chorus of noise that will easily pierce double windows. This lasts for 1 hour or so. Tanglewood is also by O street, a three lane mini-highway, and some pretty busy streets. Although some apartments are tucked away, don t be surprised to hear cars roar on O street at 12am or 1am. The rooms are pricy: the basic studio is $480, but there is usually none left. The 1 bedroom is $605, as of 2008. I don t like the construction of these apartments because the AC/heat system is right next to your room, separated by a thin wall. You can hear the AC of the neighbors upstairs or downstairs when they turn it on, because it vibrates, and your neighbors AC will likely be on (especially in hot summer or cold winter, or at night). Needless to say, you can hear your own AC. The air is re-circulated and common to residents. You can also hear people walking upstairs from your room. I thought Tanglewood could use some better fridges because they make an extraordinary amount of noise. All fridges are the same in each apartment. Tanglewood does clean your carpets when you move out, but if you have had pets and they piss or roll on the carpet, Tanglewood will not likely replace carpets unless the carpet is totally shot. There are a lot of pet owners at Tanglewood. I don t have much to say about the staff. The staff, like the manager of Tanglewood, pay much attention to you and try to smile just before you sign your lease but then get very business-like afterward they obtain your signature. They have more lease-signing and rent/lease enforcement training, than other forms of training. In terms of residents, they mainly keep to themselves and there isn t much talk. People are busy and have their own agendas, expect maybe for some retired folks. Tanglewood is a little better than some apartments downtown and the French Quarterly, for example, but I don t think it compares to Chateau. I think for the price, Tanglewood will leave you wanting. k6tKKzmJrmATU2ap682S

How would you have any idea if they replace carpet when people have pets? You are assuming everything, and you know the area it is in before you move in. Of course you will hear bugs if it is by a creek, of course you may hear residents around you, of course you may hear an AC, and of course you may hear traffic by a main rode. If you don't like that, they find come place tucked away not by rodes, water, or any other people.
