I have been writing a list for a few months now. Added to it little by little. Writing everything that I hate about these apartments. If I could warn every person I see filling out an application at the office to run away I would! Now ever since BH Management took over I think things have slowly gone downhill. I will give them a few credits for some improvements. I think the remodeled office is awesome. I think improving the landscaping is nice. And the painting really needed done except for the fact that the painters did a shotty job. Those things are great but not enough to get me to stay. Especially when it comes to living - other things are more important such as the management, condition of the apartments, and the maintenence. We will have been here for two years once out lease ends around August and I wish we would have moved instead of renewing our lease last year.

So here is my list:

Reasons Why I Dislike Village at Grant Square Apts.

1) Raising our rent $70 last year - Paying almost $700 for a 1 Bed 1 Bath Apt. is ridiculous! Especially when ours isn't remodeled or anything and people just moving in are paying way less! They should try to keep the residents they already have!

2) No Washer/Dryer in the Apartment!!

3) VERY VERY Drafty! Air comes in from everywhere - my husband's closet is like a freezer in the winter! And during the winter snow actually came in through our closed sliding glass doors! And the doors would freeze over and freeze shut!

4) The laundry room is SMALL, you can barely fit in there with a basket. And it's always filthy!

5) All the "Updates" were done terribly!

6) The walls are paper thin!! Sounds like the neighbor above us is going to fall through the ceiling, and the neighbors below us have a baby and we can hear WHENEVER he cries and it wakes us up at night, and we can hear the neighbor beside us when she is one the phone.

7) There is not near enough storage!

8) The fact that the grills were removed from the decks!

9) The fact that this complex is dog friendly but NO ONE picks up after their dog when they take them out! You should have seen all the dog crap after the snow melted it was DISGUSTING!

10) If we put anything at the back of the fridge it freezes!

11) The fact that the laundry room ALWAYS floods, I've told them several times but they STILL haven't fixed it!

12) The dryer takes twice the amount to dry one load of clothes!

13) $1.25 to wash and $1.25 to day is WAY too much money!

14) Snow removal is AWEFUL!

15) The plumbing is AWEFUL always backed up and when my neighbor turns on the water to her shower the pipes makes this loud screeching noise, I swear one of these days the pipes are gonna bust.

16) Maintenence is slow it takes days to respond to anything.

17) I live on the second floor but watch out if you live on the bottom floor the patios flood when there is a lot of rain!

18) They ALWAYS turn off the water to our building without warning! So I'll be trying to cook dinner or take a shower and all the sudden the water is off and you never know for how long! They should at least call the residents and tell them that they are turning off the water and for how long!

19) The newest manager they just hired, I can't remember her name but she is just plain rude even when she's being nice she's rude!

20) You can call and call and they either don't answer or you get through the LONG recording then leave a message and they NEVER return them!

21) This is the most dusty place I EVER lived in! The buildings are old and they really need to have the ducts cleaned and it really sucks when you have dust allergies!

22) Our air was broken and I call SEVERAL times and it took TWO weeks for them to do anything!

23) They way the gas bill is paid is weird! I don't know if it's the same as it was when we first moved it but how it was explained to us is that they get the bill they pay half and then the other half is split between the residents in the buildings. So say you use your gas very little but you neighbor uses it a lot you end up paying for them running the bill up.

I am counting the days until our lease ends!!!!!

WOW!! Did you ever stop to think that maybe you are just tooo damn BITCHy!!! Some of those things they cant help. 1. No washer/dryer not their fault that the apartments weren't built with them 2. $1.25 for wash and dry... umm hello they cant controll that... maybe if you looked on the machines it cearly state JETS service NOT BH!! 3.$700 for a one bedroom is now the market rent so how can you get mad at them for that? 4. When you say the maintence is slow.. did you ever think that there are other apartments BESIDES YOUR PRINCESS?? And sometimes they need to turn the water off for an emergancy!! they cant always call you first!! 5. Grills removed from the decks?? ARE YOU JOKING?? The city passed that not BH!! HELLO I can't stand to read this anymore! I have lived here for 4 months and therer is nothing wrong with the management for the complex. You just sometimes find RUDE ASS people like the one that wrote this!! You have lived here for 2 years and there are things you are complaining about that you KNEW BEFORE YOU MOVED IN!! WOW FEEL SORRY FOR YOUR HUSBAND!!!

HAHAHAHAHA......reading this is soooo funny. what is the point on getting so upset about what people say? my thought is that it is the staff that is getting so upset about what the residents are saying and they are getting defensive cause they think that it's not their fault. and so they are reading this and they have to put in their two sense worth. the resident is right about the place being a --------. management sucks ass there. why do you think that i left. not because i didn't like my apartment. it's was because nothing ever got done. i know how it works, but i also know that you have a time limit on getting things done. maint. always exceeds their time. it's a big problem. you can't just put a bandaid over the wound. you have to fix it so it doesn't happen again. so residents, keep on keepin on. do what you need to do to get people to listen. the management staff is just pissed cause people are talking about them. hahahahahaha.........that was pretty funny.

Good for You!! I'm SO glad I got out of there! I can't believe the prices went up AGAIN on the washers and dryers that ridiculous!! Those dryers take two run to work! The apartments I live in now ROCK (Benz Place) they clean the dryer vents on a regular basis and you have your OWN FREE washer and dryer IN your apartment! Saved us SOOO much money!

I love this! The washer and dryer issue first: The rates went up to $1.50 to wash, $1.50 to dry in our building anyway. The reason the dryers won't dry is that the d**n vent pipes are plugged up. We've brought this to management's attention weekly for the past 3 months. Nohting has been done about it. Nothing at all. As far as the poor, abused management staff being so busy listening to gossip to do their work: They should get thicker skin or get a different job. They are so incompetent as to be laughable. I am SO GLAD I am out of here in about 10 days. This place is deplorable.

wasnt really that terrible as they make it seem nicest biggest apartment ive ever lived in kitchen was great lots of cubboard space 2nd bedroom is huge, there will always be bad things u can nit pick little tiny bs the one thing that does suck is the manager never stays so its someone new all the time and that can cause delays. laundry room isnt that bad fits four two washers n two dryers any other apartments ive lived there have only been two and u would have to wait. the area kind of sucks but never had a problem with the apartments n parking. walls arent thin atleast mine werent they have doggy crap bags out now to help lazy people. dont be a ----- about everything or youll never get anywhere to have a list and to take that much time i feel sorry and the only reason im saying anything about these apartments is because of the 5 ive lived in these were the best. i was even on the 2nd floor the apartments out west you cant leave ur car unlocked i did everyday at village. i would have stayed but we bought a house.
