Besides location, the other reason that I moved here is because applecreek allows large dogs. At the time, they were also advertising a new dog run they were building, and various pet-friendly policies. Well, here I am still stuck here two years later (we're building a house & it's taking a LONG time) and management has become increasingly hostile to people with pets. The dog run was torn down without notice because a neighbor complained (and this is a homeowner nearby, NOT an applecreek customer, which carried much less weight), signs have sprung up all over the complex that say "no dogs allowed", every month in the newsletter there is a fresh scolding for all dog owners over some issue (usually caused by 1 or 2 people. it's like we're in first grade and everybody has to put their head down on their desk all because ONE person is acting up), and most recently, we all just received a note saying that pets were no longer welcome in the tornado shelter. So what do they expect people to do' Let them blow away' Are they going to turn us away from the shelter because we want to save our dogs'
In addition, the appliances are ancient, the buildings poorly built and designed, and badly need extensive updating. The landscaping is only nice by the street and the clubhouse. It's been nothing but bare dirt in front of my apartment ever since I moved in. Management and maintenance seem to be ok, but there's only so much they can do when this place is owned by a giant corporation based in some other state who obviously doesn't give a damn about the people who call this home.

Pretty typical that this would be an anonymouse; I wish I didn't have to be. I think that maybe the storm shelter should be locked up and no one should be allowed to use it; pets or humans for that matter. It is a toss up as to which lives hold more meaning. But I think Apple Creek is one of the few complexes in Omaha to offer a storm shelter so maybe to save conflict they should lock it and take the sign down. That way everyone will be happy. It is sad that a few people can ruin a good thing for SO many others! It is even more ridiculous that this website be available for you to post your comments and obvious concerns when I am sure this is the best way to see results at your apartment complex; especially remaining unknown but so vocal!

Hate to say it, but tough on those that want to cry about there dogs, cats and those that brought a box of kitten and hamsters. The human life is what they are looking out for. You animal can stay in the apartment and blow away if the tornado does hit, and yes this is comeign from someone that has a dog and has done ranching. If i have to I can get a new dog. they are a dime a dozen. cry me a river will ya.

Um, maybe you should learn how to spell before you make fun of anybody else...? You make me laugh. I wish you would blow away. :)

I'm amused by the first person who criticized the writer of this review for remaining anonymous... since they decided to say horrible things and remain anonymous, too. *rolling my eyes* It's sad that they were not so nice to the pets after promising good things for them, but I can see where the management is coming from, too. I'm sure that some people are allergic to dogs... I know that I am... and they have to make sure that they take care of the people before the animals.
