Aspen Townhomes

We relocated in Aug '04 and needed temporary furnished housing until our house was completed. We rented this place sight unseen. My husband arrived 2 weeks in advance -- had I been the first one here we would have been in a motel until we could find something else. It was cramped -- very little floor space, there were cob webs everywhere, and the lock was impossible to turn. This is not a child safe place -- the spiral staircase spindles were wide enough apart for my 1 and 4 year old to jump through. When the neighbors were smoking it came in through the ventilation system....I actually went outside the first time to be sure a fire hadn't broke out. In addition to the cleaning fee that is automatically charged part of our deposit was kept to clean the carpet. This blew my mind considering there was dirt and old food under the broken down sofa cushions, cob webs, and dust that we had to clean upon moving in. We had already paid for a month, but as soon as our time was up we found a different furnished apartment. It had to be bad to be willing to move to a second temporary residence. It reminded me of a state park cabin -- but we weren't there to go camping.
