Some Things Never Change

I moved into the property around 2001. When I moved in everything looked nice enough, but it wasn't long until I found out the truth. We had black mold growing in the bathroom and instead of cleaning/killing it, they simply painted over it. There were always potholes in the roads there. Cars were towed that were parked in appropriate places. The security doors were never secure, often they were propped open by children who were unsupervised. The outside of the complex was starting to fall apart. The kids overtook the pool and were often in there unsupervised and after the time that it was to be locked. The office staff was completely useless.
As soon as my lease was up I moved out.
As for those on Section 8, not all are or were bad folks. Some work and take pride in the communities in which they live. It's too bad that a requirement for getting Section 8 isn't that you be employed or volunteering in the community, within 6 months of getting on the program. I understand that some people need a hand up but if you've been on Section 8 for years on end, and are able bodied and not working, what is your incentive to go to work' It's all being handed to you and you take no pride in what you have because you haven't had to earn it. I've seen how well cars have been taken care of that have been purchased with the individuals own money. Why the discrepency between taking care of where you live and taking care of your vehicle' One was given to them free or low cost the other had to be purchased with their own money.
If you are desperate for a place to live at least this place is a roof over your head, just be careful. Document everything that you are told. Document, with photos and/or video if possible, any mainteance issues and when you report them to management. Also document their response, their response time, and the end product. (Was the situation fixed, was it fixed to code, was it addressed at all, etc.) Remember these apartments get tax breaks. Contact the Federal HUD program with your evidence if you feel that your concerns are not be addressed. This is not just a Section 8 property and all tenants have a right to contact the Fedral HUD program to make reports.

Why would you post something so negative about an apartment community that you USED to live at? And lived at SO long ago? Makes no sense. I live here now and I love it! Maintenance guys are fast and really nice and we just got a new office staff and they are the nicest ladies I've met. Don't listen to someone who lived here so long ago that a different company even owns it! My apartment is big and my building is clean and quiet. When I have a problem they are usually there the same day. I don't see how anyone wouldn't enjoy living here.

This response sounds like a management staff or someone working for the complex. Those ladies are NOT NICE! They are vicious, rude, and EXTREMELY unprofessional.

Yep, I would agree. Lots of new management lately. Rules seem to change, and no one gets notified until they break the "new rules". Got news for you management, its called IN WRITING!!!
