I lived in Briarwood for 2 years and saw a lot of changes (all positive) during my stay. They put in secured entry to the buildings, re-furnished the gym, installed a business center and hired security to patrol the community. This was my first apartment in Omaha and the price was right for the amenities offered. Of late it is becoming more of family dwelling so the pools are full with kids during summers. Apaprtment itself was roomy and all maint. requests were handled the same day. I remember during my first month I got a huge OPPD bill of $230 - there was a problem with my A/C and the management reimbursed me $180.

Before they hired Yale securities for patroling, there were numerous car breakins in the neighborhood which has gone down considerably.

To be honest, Briarwood (and all Broadmoor properties) has had Yale Security (and Heartland Public Safety before that) patrolling the properties. However, with the recent crime increase, Broadmoor has stepped up the security to have Yale driving though more often. In the honest truth, Yale has always been there, but they were so ineffective and rarely there, that you probably didn't know they were there (and neither did the people committing the crimes.)
