The reviewer who said that this building is, effectively, an upperclassperson dorm for Creighton students was pretty much correct-- about half of the residents are CU students who want to be conveniently close to campus. The other half (dwindling in numbers) consists of retirees who are very nice and quiet. If you don't have a roommate, it's your best bet for a close off-campus apartment.

If you know someone who lives there currently, talk to them about when they're leaving-- when we lived there, the policy was that sublettors could get the same rent, so you can avoid Capitol Hill's (actually pretty modest) rent increases. They like to keep their residents around. They were really nice about being flexible about our move out date, probably because we were there for a little over 2 years.

We felt safe there, at least between the apartment and campus. We regularly noticed Creighton's public safety in the area. They know that many of their students live there, and keep an eye out for them.

The lounge downstairs can be a great place for late night studying, and can be popular during midterms and finals.

These are the good things about the building, from a CU student's point of view.

The bad things are that the kitchens are tiny, the rooms are small, and the elevators do break down often. Actually, after being spooked a couple of times by them jerking and whatnot, we started just walking up to our apartment on the 7th floor. It's great for your legs! The closet space is decent, and you can control your own A/C. If you get too hot in the winter, open your window. The water pressure in the showers was good, and hot.

We never saw any bugs or mice. Ever.

Consider Capitol Hill a cheaper CU dorm, and you're set. It costs far less than the Creighton-affiliated apartments, at least if you don't have roommates. If you're not a Creighton student, however, I'm sure that you could find more space for your money somewhere else.
