Decent place to live.

I have lived at the Tadoussac for about 3 years. Initially, Duda Realty was incredible about fixing things (sometimes the same day). But, they aquired a few more buildings and their level of response dropped a little. Overall they are fairly good about fixing things.
Crimewise, there have been a few thefts and car breakins, but that happens everywhere. I think that goes with the neighborhood. It's on the middle ground for being fairly safe. It is nice that you have to go through two locked doors.
The walls are extremely thick, so you rarely hear the neighbors. We do have the Red Cross behind us, so you can hear the trucks.
My biggest complaints are the heaters, lack of central air, hot water, and electricity. The heaters use steam, so it sounds like someone is taking a hammer to the pipes. (not good at 4:30am). You get use to it after awhile. As far as air conditiong, your stuck with a window unit. The other problem is taking a shower. The temperature of the water changes like the wind. There are also a large number of power spikes even without all the appliances running (don't even think about running a halogen light at the same time as the toster). We did have a ton of things plugged in, so that was part of the problem.
Despite all these issues, it has been a great place to live. But, the rent is starting to get a little high. If you are a student at UNMC, Creighton, or UNO, I think it is a good choice.
