A REVIEW FROM SOMEONE THAT CAN ACTUALLY SPELL AND FORM A COHERENT THOUGHT.

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007
I've lived at maple ridge for a year in apt O-7 for $525 a month in a one bedroom. I didn't think it was that bad. yea, the walls are thin and I could hear my neighbors playing music at all hours. but it wasnt horrible, I could still easily fall asleep at night. That and the old lady that lived beneath me would always complain that I had my tv or radio too loud and come knocking on my door when I barely had the volume knob turned on. She either had superhearing or the floors were thin too. It's was okay for a first apartment, because it WAS my first apartment. For someone that's first starting out you cant be too picky to begin with. Basically you get what you pay for. Even though I think $400/month seemed more fair for that apt i lived in. Parking was okay. Generally about 80 percent of the time there was always a parking spot next to my building. Don't rent out their garages though to park your car or store your stuff. They're pieces of crap. A lot of them are dinged up or have dents in them where the door slide or shut down. And the doors to the garages are flimsy and easily broken into. I rented one out for a couple of months, didnt think it was worth the money.
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. One of the main reasons I picked this place was because it was close to a lot of shops, restaurants, businesses, Westroads Mall, and most importantly it was close to UNO (my university). That and I-680 was only about 2 minutes away which was pretty awesome. These apartments arent meant for luxury but more or less meant for students that are starting out and are going to UNO or creighton OR THE CREATIVE CENTER(which are both with in a reasonable distance. The neighborhood was "okay" Yea, I see people loitering around the parking lot sometimes at odd hours of the night. But I've never got my car broken into or heard stories about people getting their car into.
AMENTIES/MANAGEMENT/MAINTENANCE
It was kind of nice that they had washer/dryers in your building you didnt have to lug your laundry to another building. I had only 6 neighbors to share it with so there was always open to use. The only person I remember from management was Lacy (the office manager). She was a really sweet girl and was always willing to help me out when she can. Like i said i was just a student starting out and I admit to being late on rent a few times. She'd cut me a break here and there and tried to help me out in my situations as far as giving me extra time for late rent goes. The maintenance guys were pretty good about fixing things and usually respond within a few hours or the next day. I remember when summer hit during my lease my air conditioning wasnt working. They were there within 2 hours' and got the ac working.
SUMMARY. YAY OR NAY'
I say yay. The apt I lived in was 'okay'. It wasnt the nicest looking thing but I could of done a lot worse. I liked the management and maintenace guys. I didnt mind living there. But i wouldnt resign that lease, simply because I moved on up and found something a bit more expensive but upscale but I'd still recommend maple ridge. I ended up moving to a two story one bedroom loft at EDEN WEST. Which I personally highly recommend. If you're looking for an apt in the same area as maple ridge, I'd try eden west. I don't live in their studios but my friend lives in one and THEY'RE REALLY nice. It kind of regretted that i just didnt move into there in the first place for my first apt. For the same money of a one bedroom at maple ridge you can get a UPSCALE 600 sq. foot studio for about $510 a month. If you're a student I'd definitely give eden west a look. Just saying. Well there's my rant for the day. Good luck on your apt hunting guys.
