I would not let my worst enemy live here.....yes it is that bad

The Grandridge apartments formaly know as LaurelWood Apartments.

I lived at the Grandridge Apartments for almost 3 years. Within those 3 years I had nothing but issue with the apartment, but wait this was not until the name changed to Grandridge. Once the name changed the new owners let everyone in the complex know that they were going to tear down the old club house which mind you had a perfectly good INDOOR pool. Now living in Omaha NE having an indoor pool is something of a novelty as it is nice to be able to go swimming during the cold winters that we are known to have. Okay so they deconstruct the clubhouse and build a new workout room and an outdoor pool that still to this date not open and is not slated to be open until later this summer. Once they started construction on the clubhouse they proceeded to spruce up the outdoor surroundings with plastic fencing and 1.5 millon in what I call cosmetic repairs. The thing that is bad about this is that the amenities that are in the apartments which are at least 60 years old did not get any new appliances or any upgrades that was promised such as new patio doors for all apartments.Which I never recieved and the excuse that was giving was that they did not have the crane or the doors to replace them with. Why would someone promise something that they could not deliever. Anytime I called maintaince they never seemed like they were in a rush to repair anything in the apartment. As for the maintaince crew there was one gentalman that stood out as tell me that there was a metal rod that came up in the dishwasher that propelled the water throughout the dishwasher to clean the dishes. Mind you that anytime I had to do dishes I was having to wash them 2-3 times to even get them remotely clean. He told me that if I covered the little metal knob on the top that the dishes would not get clean. The only thing that was replace and this was toward the end of my lease was the kitchen faucet because it had leaked bad enough to cause mold and water damage under the sink. There was stuctural damage that was evident but was never addressed. There was a crack going along the top of ceiling that stretched the entire length of my door way that led into the kitchen. There was a metal rod that was about a half inch thick protruding from the ceiling in the master bedroom. In the second bedroom that I used as a den there was a piece of ceiling that was sagging and it was right in the middle of the room. I am not sure if the person before me smoked in the apartment but anytime I let my shower steam up the bathroom I noticed a yellow film that seemed to be running down the wall. Once the wall was wiped down the wall seemed whiter than before. Look I could go on and on about the issue within the apartment itself but what is the point the company that owns these apartment does not care about anything the tentants say. As if you did not pay your rent on time or was even a day late they would call and state that if they did not have thier money there were going to kick us out. Mind you that we were only late 2 times the entire 3 years that we were tentants. This I found to be very rude.
I was served with a policy infraction of having pets on the poperty. This was very far from the truth as we had payed a pet deposit that was not noted correctly. The thing that got me was that we were served these papers while my wife was having my daughter. Mind you that they only gave us 24 hours to resolve the issue. So while my wife was in the hospital she had to call to resolve the issue which did nothing for her stress level.

I would not recoment this apartment to my worst enemy.

If you are looking to live here be prepared for Gangs and drug dealing going on the property. And I am sure I do not have to remind you of the shooting that happened ohhhh not to long ago.
