"Luxury"' Yea Right!

First of all, I hate how the voice recording on the main line refers to the apartments as "luxury"... The workout room has piece of crap equipment and no pool. In addition to that, last night during a major rain storm our master bedroom window starting leaking profusely. Lucky for Hillsborough we were home, other wise our computer would have probably been ruined. Also, I can constantly smell cigarette smoke coming through the vents from another apartment. I have NEVER had that happen anywhere else.

On another note, one day I came home and the entire concrete porch was torn up and laying in a pile of rubble in one of the parking spots and all of our patio furniture was laying in the grass. The next day I visited the office to find out what was going on and turns out the office staff didn't even know that the workers were replacing the patios, she just thought they were going to repair some of the sidewalks! She said the crew was hired by the apartments ownership and not the management. I was enraged that we were not told of this major (and noisy) construction would be going on. When I got to my apartment there were 7 workers sitting in front of our, still unpoured, patio eating lunch SITTING IN OUR CHAIRS! I don't mind one bit that they take a break but please stay off of my stuff! Once they finally finished they left, leaving behind fast food cups and wrappers. I was very disappointed in this entire fiasco!

Another fun fact: When my husband and I were signing the lease papers and given the run down of the rules, one of the woman mentioned "and of course, this is a drug free community" and I said "well, thats good to know" - glad that they mention that specific rule to all new tenants. Then she replied "well yea, but if you do you can just go down to the Home Depot parking lot"... ridiculous! At that point, I wish that my husband were a cop so that he could take note of her comment!

In the end, yes I feel safe, yes there is a place to park and the grounds are kept clean, but its just not a spectacular place to live!
