A place to start out...

I lived in this complex for two years. I had two jobs and was attending school, so I was note there as much as some poeple normally are, but overall, it was a good place to start out. The rent is not too high. The parking was adequate, but sometimes late at night and during the weekends it was tough to find a spot. They did not paint or put in new carpet when I moved in but I didn't ask about it. The bathroom is small, but everything worked well enough. If you stay for more than one year, you get to choose a "gift" for your apartment, such as a new cabinet for the bathroom over the toilet (which I chose), new carpeting, painting, and other things like that. The walls were a little thin, luckily even though I was in the middle of the complex, I had the stairwell on one side of my apt. I didn't bother other people, but I could always hear the main door open or close, and people going up the stairs. There is wood burning fireplace in the apartments, which is a nice feature to have. It was fun to use. I did have a problem with my air conditioner the 2nd year, and the maintenance person came twice to fix it, and although he told me some reason as to why it did not function, it didn't seem like that was the correct answer. I also had my heat go out in the winter which I called emergency maintenance and they responded within 2-3 hours. The appliances were not brand new but worked well enough. I like to cook so I found out that there was not enough cabinet space and space in the kitchen in general. I did not take advantage of the breakfast bar. The living room and dining room are a good size, too. There were quite a few thefts in the parking lot so they installed cameras and large flood lights. I had no trouble with the laundry machines, but as usually, there's never enough of them.

Overall, for my first apartment, it was worth the price I was willing to pay. It was not exceptional in any way, but it was not too bad. You would be getting what you pay for.
