The manager named Theo is a very difficult woman to work with. She gets defensive easily and is not very pleasant. Anyone who lives here can vouche for that. Alex the assistant is nice though. Last year, we had a mouse problem, which could have been solved easily, but it took 8 mice and a call to someone in city government for them to get their fannies working on blocking the entry where mice were coming (I even live on the top floor). We did have roaches, but they have taken aggressive prevention measure and haven't seen any all summer. They finally realized that you have to spray EVERY apartment, not just the ones who report the roaches. Not very noisy. All my neighbors are students, too. Most tenants are students with a few welfare families here and there. Irving Ct. is the best place to live. Avoid Nicholas and Izard Cts. A little more unsafe. Generally there are not problems, but this is the border of North Omaha, by no means is it invincible to crime. Rent-a-cops make rounds once or twice a night. But overall, I'm too lazy to move out and it's way too conventient to leave since I'm in Pharm School. Price is good. Apartment is very big (top floor). It costs me about$23 per month for gas, $52 per month electric. DSL service thru USWest is about $50 including telephone line. Washer and dryer is 75 cents each. I have a roommate to offset the costs, too. There is controlled access for top and basement floors but not all first floors. For government subsidized housing, it's not all that bad and I save money in gas by not driving to school.
