Maybe not luxury, but not at all bad either

I'm happy here. I've lived in a small studio apartment in Kensington Woods for about nine months and like it. Yes, sometimes I hear the neighbors' dogs barking. The fixtures are not of the highest quality. But on the other hand nothing really stands out as a major complaint either. Maintenance has been quick and responsive. If I need something taken care of, it gets taken care of.
As far as some of the previous reviews, the walls really aren't that thin as some previous reviewers have alluded to. Yes, I occasionally hear dogs across the hall or downstairs. I rarely ever even hear my next-door neighbors on either side, though! For a small studio surrounded by units above, below, and on either side, it's really pretty quiet.
Also as far as the person who said the internet connection was slow, the connections aren't provided by Kensington Woods but rather by third-party providers, either Cox (cable) or Windstream (phone/DSL). I know that cable modem service can tend to get congested in apartment complexes unless the cable company has only put a few units on each node, but only the newest apartment buildings (newer than KW) were really set up for anything more than traditional analog cable TV service and thus can be prone to connection congestion. So just get the DSL service instead of the cable service. That's what I did and it's always on and fast and not prone to congestion when the neighbors are online. Just make sure the installer connects the DSL to a different jack than the apartment intercom/door unlock system!
My building has also just gone smoke-free within the last few weeks, which is a welcome addition. Pet-free would be nice too, but like I said, it's really not that loud... the walls are thick enough or insulated enough that the dogs can be tuned out. Speaking of insulation, I am on the north and the apartment stays warm in the winter and cool in the summer even when the wind is blowing strong out of the north.
If you're looking for luxury, this may not be the complex for you. Other Richdale properties such as the Biltmore may be more what you're looking for. But for a good place to live without paying too much, I'd recommend Kensington Woods.
