I actually don't really know where to start. First of all when we moved in we really liked the grounds, they look neat with all the trees and bushes etc. Our parents liked it as well it does have a secured entrance type thing. So we moved in. First our toilet didn't work, turns out the tile floor guys enjoyed shoving tile scraps down the opened toilet drain, this then moved back our move in date. After a few clogged drains, dishwasher problems and heater problems, we began to notice some sketchy stuff from the management office. Oh and let me add, that when we did have a problem the maitnence seemed to come over asap and seemed to work out fine with us. But back to the office problems, First of all if you want to talk to "corporate office" all the time then this is your place. The leasing agents are no help what so ever. Because we started off paying $970/month, which divided by three of us is about $324. Well then it turns out that you have to pay half of your cox cable bill to Latvian, which is 30 and some odd dollars. And then if you want internet you have to pay another bill to cox and then you have an OUTRAGEOUS MUD bill. That'll run you around $200 in the winter. Oh and you make that check out to Latvian as well. Turns out that not each Apt. has its own meter. We pay for the whole damn building to be heated. And not to mention the OPPD bill which is around $30-35 a month. So then we randomly get this letter saying that our cable is going up. We have to pay an extra 20 a month. And made out to Latvian'!'!Bullsh*t. So then a few months, a few dogshit covered shoes, not to mention my roommates car getting broken into, and then the jacked up washing and drying prices. We dont' have a washer dryer in our unit. We use the buildings. It's $1.25 to wash and $1.25 to dry. Well not bad but the washer and dryer pry hold only 3 pair of my jeans. I'm only five three and around 130 pounds, my jeans aren't exactly huge. I don't know how the 6'0 250lb. man upstairs washes his clothes without using half his paycheck. And not to mention there is no place on the property to get quarters you have to either have them on stock or go to the Hy-Vee or dig in your cushions, cause they are not about to put them in the laundry rooms, that'd just be too easy. Anyways we did have some friends living here as well and they were thinking of getting a lawyer when they moved out b/c latvian didn't replace the carpet for them when they moved in and then they tried to charge them for wear and stains. Remind you this carpet is damn cheap. I'm talking nylon and the kind that gets fuzzy. Our lease is coming to and end and I'm curious as to what they will say about ours, since we did have new carpet, but they didn't seem to finish the area right around the fireplace which just so happens to be in a high traffic area, so of course the carpet is going to fray and unravel. And I will be hiring a professional carpet cleaner to come and clean my floor and scrub the walls. I'll have to keep you posted on what they will charge me for. A few good things.....ummm..... the parkings okay. The neighbors are hilarious and a joy. And the hallways actually are nice and don't smell like everyone in the building is cooking with 16 different spices and herbs. The rooms are pretty spacious, Oh another thing.... i had the far bedroom and let me tell you...I literally slept with 6 blankets a couple pairs of sweats and a hoodie, Hood up! And froze my hoo-haa's off. For paying 200 a month i expected to stay warm. And of course summer rolled around. Can anyone say night sweats!'!' I guess i just wanted to voice my opinion and i would just suggest you read your lease very very carefully.
