When I first moved in to CandleTree, I was young and stupid. The only time they were (Chris) was nice to me was before I signed (with blood) the lease. After that, down hill. I moved in with my daughter and a friend and my cat. 2br 2 bt, bottom floor, just after 3 weeks, the neighbor's kitchen sink got clogged and backed up my sink. Their lovley maintence could not figure it out and had to call a real plumber to fix it, which they got black gunk all over the bottom cabinets in the kitchen. Then a year later in the dead of winter, my little electric heater- whiched cost me over $100 a month to heat the apartment, kept dying/wouldn't work. One night me and my daughter had to go with out heat - even after the office said that it had been fixed - the fourth time. They didn't care that we had to sleep in a freezing apartment. Came to find out there was a Burnt wire in the heater - nice. Then when I moved out, of course I was "breaking" my lease and I had to pay them for a month still and i let the apartment "dirty" even though I had a friend who even cleaned the walls - oh and my apartment smelled like "cat". Well duh - if you have a cat it might smell like cat to someone who doesnt have one! So of course, I did not get my deposit back. After that experience I have learned what to watch out for. I have told ever ony I know and they have told others - stay away from Candletree!! Just looking at the apts, you'll lose your money!! Oh and they raise the rent on you ever year - way more than the average apt - by $25. I started with $525 -plus $10 for cat -- up to $550-plus $10 for cat. So as far as they knew I had one cat, when I actually had 3!!
