I'm the Property Manager for Legacy and would like to respond to several of the previous comments.
We assummed the property in July of 2005. The previous managers/owners 100% neglected the property. We have replaced decks, we will be remodeling hallways, painting the exterior, doing some interior renovations, and much more.
There is a deck comment regarding a missing balcony for a period of time. I'm aware of one missing deck and it was missing for about a week. The neighboring resident set the balcony on fire causing damage to the siding of the building. That particular stack of balconies required a little extra work due to the fire damage.
The old deck pile. Yes, that was a problem. The contractor was not responding to my requests to get it out of there. I'm actually the one who called the City and asked them to help me get him moving. They were a huge help in helping me get the contractor to move the pile.
Any resident who would like their apartment upgraded on renewal is absolutely welcome to inquire about that. We are upgrading several things at Legacy and would welcome your request if your apartment is in need of renovation. We have some guidelines we are following on renovations. Please don't hesitate to ask. If you are not getting this response from the site staff, please contact me.
As far as maintenance requests taking too long, this is unacceptable. If you are having a problem getting something repaired, please contact me directly.
In closing, when we took Legacy Crossing over last summer, it was in horrible condition. We are working very hard to repairs YEARS worth of neglect in a short amount of time. Unfortunately, some things do take time.
Office staff turnover, there has been some. I will not have people in any of my offices who can't handle residents appropriately. I will again turn the office staff as needed until the right people are in there and I'm confident they are taking care of people. Right now we seem to be on the right track. If you disagree, again, I welcome you to contact me directly.
I appreciate and respect everyone's comments on this site. I check this site on a regular basis as these comments are actually important to me. I would like to say once again though that anyone is welcome to call/email me directly with any concerns or problems they may have.
And for the record, I have never been contacted by Mike McKnight at Channel 6 news in regards to any problem at Legacy Crossing.
