Old, old review, but might be useful for some.

Back in '86 and '87, I was a pilot for a small (but respectable) air freight company,
and they put us up in 2 apartments in the Rorick. The neighborhood was old and, yes,
seedy. There were hookers in the area, and probably drug dealers, but for "bad"
neighborhoods, this wasn't too bad. I'd go out jogging in the afternoons, and never
felt threatened. It IS within long walking distance of downtown. The 2 studio
apartments we had were reasonably clean and quiet, though of course lots can change in
20 years. They had a parking garage, so our car was fairly safe. I'll repeat, the
surroundings were seedy, and the building itself had "character", but might very well
