Spring Hill Apartments The good and the bad

Years at this apartment: 2007-01-01 - 2007-01-01
I was totally sold the minute I walked into this apartment home.
The woodwork is beautiful.
The tile floors are a lovely upgrade.
The kitchen appliances are upgraded.
The washer dryer are not acceptable.
They are new, but the washer is so small and there isn't even a fabric softener dispenser.
The closet doors stick and you have to use great force to pull them open.
The biggest problem is the paint.
DO NOT move in until you have approved the paint.
It comes off when washed with anything, even those special soft pads they sell for scuff marks.
The paint is thin and is smeared.
When it is washed, it stays dark and never turns back to the original color.
This is especially a problem over the backsplash in the kitchen.
There are a few holes and ceiling leaks in the halls and entryways that never get repaired.
They claim it is a secured entry.
Well, you get a key card or key fob that only works half the time.
You cannot punch yourself in.
You can ONLY enter with a key fob.
That means, if you forget your key when you take out your trash or get your mail, you have to call some random neighbor to let you in! The trash area is so unsightly.
It is a large eyesore that is always brimming over with trash.
They appear to have started building a brick trash area, but have NEVER seen anyone work on it, EVER.
Maybe the owners have run out of funds'' The showers make a loud whining noise all the time, when in use.
Try them out before renting.
It has been quiet here.
The front unit doors are not weatherstripped.
You hear all of the wind rushing through them.
Also, the halls aren't air conditioned, so your non-weather stripped doors help to cool the hallways.
Love paying that bill.
They claim there will be a pool by May of 2008.
I really doubt it.
If they can't get a trash area built,a pool will be an impossibility! The maintanance is basically non existent. You have to beg for everything and they do NOT make you feel welcomed.
There are no numbers on any of the unit doors.
There are sticky notes.
Classy.
I am hoping the private owners, read some of these apartment reviews and reconsider their manager. She is ruining a great idea they had here;luxury apartments at affordable prices.
I think they also own Midland Height Apts.
in Papillion, NE.
That is where their office is.
They are lower rent apartments and I can't imagine what those poor tenants are having to suffer through.
The insides of these apartments rival some of the nicest in Omaha.
The maintanence is so horrible, that within a year or two, this will be another shabby complex.
If you are late by one day putting in your 30 day notice to vacate, you are automatically renewed for a year.
There is no getting out of this either.
There is no cable tv here either.
They are contracted with Direct TV only, no option! Satellite tv is very unstable out here in the open.
The parking bites if you get home late.
I have often had to park on the north side on a residential street.
That entrance is locked by the way, so you have to walk around the building to get into your apartment, if you haven't forgotten you key fob.
You have to show proof of renters insurance for $500,000 before you get your mail key.
$50 automatic garages available.
They are roomy with some shelving.
We have a bedroom closet that is 10 feet long.
That is amazing.
The living area is very small.Bulky furniture and big screens don't fit.
There are 3 nice sized ceiling fans in the 2 bedroom unit.
The patio is small, but fine.
The brick exterior is nice, but they opted to put wooden poles in.
That looks bad.
The wooden blinds in the bedrooms are good.
The deposit is high here, $500.
Do not expect to get a penny back.
It ain't happenin! If you do rent here, do NOT sign ANYTHING until every single thing is fixed that you want fixed (PAINT MOSTLY).
You will regret it if you do.
Here's to better management & maintenance, PLEASE!
