I lived at Torrey Pines for a little over 2 years and when I went to move out, the Assistant Manager did a walk through and she said that everything looked great and they should only be charging me for $25 dollar cleaning fee and a $45 Carpet cleaning fee and I turned my keys in 2 days early but I called 4 times within a month and everytime I called they would find something else to take out of my deposit. The first time I called it was only a $70 charge taken out for cleaning but they tried to charge me $108 at first. The second time I called, it was still just the $70 charge and this was 2 weeks later and the third time I called it was $180 pet treatment for the carpet, $70 cleaning fee, $34 refrigerator shelf. So out of $400 deposit I am only supposed to get $115 back. Which here it is 6 weeks later and I still have not seen any of the money. They are so desperate to steal from people they have to sit around and think of things to take out of your deposit. I was a good tenant and always paid my rent on time and they still stole from me. They punish you for moving out. I will be taking them to small claims court, not for money for the principal of the matter. If you move in you might as well plan on not getting your deposit back when you move out. They have to steal from people in order to keep their head afloat!
