I have pretty happy here overall except for a couple of things I could live without which is why I would like to find new apt after my current lease expires. My most annoying complaint is I have problems with upstairs neighbors being extremely loud and having to be awaken in the middle of the night of people having sex, screaming, fighting and sounding like jackhammer on top of my bedroom is really disgusting. Futhermore, I have had previous neighbors who had late night parties, yelling off of their balcony and throw their trash on the ground and are total pigs. Also, in the summer the bug problem sometimes gets bad. When I have made complaints to the office about neighbor issues, not sure how much follow up is done because the problems seem to continue a month or so afterwards. Otherwise, they are usually friendly if you talk to them in person at the office. The vanderbilt pools usually get crowded with children therefore I use the pool at the biltmore since you can use the facilites there. Actually I first wanted to move there instead but since they didnt have an opening for 1brm apt, I decided to move to the vanderbilt since they were little less expensive. However, rents have gone up recently so now with pet rent and basic cable, I'm paying almost $600 a month. The apt is kinda small and the complex is starting to age such as the microwave in apt is outdated-under counter with dial-no digital-not above stove. Plus the wallpaper in the bathroom is peeling badly. But beware they have strict guidelines about who they accept especially if you dont have rent history-they made me fax them a copy of my paystubs from work.
