I came from Camelot Village apartments where I was completely unsatisfied. From their management staff, to the complex in general. I had problems from the beginning. My car having the window shot out, broken into all within 2 months. My screen on my bedroom window was taken off during the night, the apartment managers seem to think that wasn't a problem. My patio door fell off, again maintenance said they "might" get to it that day.

Since I've moved in to Vanderbilt, I've had nothing but positive things to say. When the maintenance staff was called, they were there within a timely matter. The staff is always friendly and can answer my questions well. I have read nearly all the reviews on here and have figured out that most of the problems come when its time to move out. This is with damn near all apartments. I'm currently fighting my previous complex for fines they gave me when they were in the wrong, and I have it written on paper. Any apartment you go to you will have problems. Welcome to the wonderful world of renting. I mean seriouly, I've looked up so many apartments on here and rarely any of them have reviews better then 30%. Keep in mind the satisfied customers who maybe are unaware of this site to post comments on.

I am satisfied with my choosing the vanderbilt. So far it has been a much better experience for me then Camelot ever was.

Went to court with them, they pushed and we pushed back because they were clearly in the wrong. Actually trying to evict my daughter for allegedly being noisy and refusing to give 2 "men" in the parking lot her address at midnight. Security guards who claimed they were security with absolutely no ID. Outcome? THEY LOST. What a waste of time and money and likely they thought they could bully two girls into leaving and then collect all their rent fines etc. Wait more than a month. We will NEVER rent again from this outfit. Note: I thought they were all the same too.....after looking more carefully at smaller complexes there are plenty who require a nominal security deposit. Vanderbilt wanted double >one each from each renter of same apt! They cannot do this legally. Also wanted a co signer because one renter was 19. They also "discounted" the rent and the small print said if they evict or you leave they receive ALL of the discount back. I stupidly did not read their agreement letting my daughter take this step on her own. She sure learned alot the hard way! Did not run across any of these caveats with other complexes. We talked to neighbors as well and ONE guy claimed they heard noise on a balcony and guessed it was the girls apt and so complained but didn't mean for them to be evicted! As it turned out the girls were not even at their apt! Management then lied to me as well as the other parents about trumped up "violations" and then claimed well they really didn't know if the girls did this or that. Last, maintenance walked in when they felt like it. NOTE: 24 hour notice is legally required. If they do not fix things in timely manner YOU can leave legally. To those who may be unfortunate enuff to rent here, don't let these people boss you around should you have a problem. CHeck your legal rights first. And when time t move out they have to give you a statement of what they are keeping your security deposit for but you have to ask for it. Good Luck!

As the last poster said...just wait until you want to leave - even if your lease is up. Take pictures and record. Note - when I left, they said that they "don't do walk throughs" when you leave...they just trump up charges after you have left. Take pictures or video tape when leave. Do whatever you can to protect yourself from these people if you currently live there. I might sound crazy, but trust me, you'll be glad you did.
