Forgot two things. Car has been keyed at the Vanderbilt (where are the "security guards" when you need them') And, note that management in my discussions with them, threatened to attach to our credit rating if my daughter did not get out. I let the woman know they cannot do this without a court decision saying they actually legally won an eviction and stop threatening us.
They also slapped a FOR RENT sign on a garage we had just rented without a legal anything to kick my daughter out of it! I noted there was not one FOR RENT sign anywhere else on the property
I tape recorded all conversations with them, legal in NE and highly recommended given our experience with them making up violations they could not prove. Keep in mind they may be taping you.....be polite.
Again, don't let them bully you, check the Landlord Tenant Act should you have a problem.
These people were getting the rent on time......they are obviously strange.

Lived there 8 years ago and nothing has changed. My wife's car was broken into - they did nothing. When I moved in, the apartment was filty...they did nothing. When I moved out, the apartment was clean and I always paid my rent on time...they sent me a bill on top of my deposit for things that "made up". Never rent here or from any of their other properties! Terrible people to work with. Funny part about it all is that my wife is now an attorney and when we look back at how the Vandies treated us, we know we could have had their rears...but its not worth our time any longer....but just beware.

My husband and I lived there 8 years ago as well - when we moved in there was no shower curtain and there were black fingerprints all over the white cupboards (had they not heard of cleaning?). Didn't get our shower curtain for nearly a week and we ended up cleaning the cupboards ourselves (we did note both of these on the move-in checklist, which they later claim they lost).
When we moved out, they tried to bill us $650 for new carpet even though they had cleared our apt as "no issues" just a month earlier when we were looking at moving into a 2 bedroom with them instead of our 1 bedroom.
There was nothing wrong with our carpet and when I set up an appt with them to see the so-called damages, they claimed their maintenance guy tossed it. I had to fight for nearly 6 months to get my deposit back. I would never recommend this complex to anyone.
