DO NOT MOVE TO ANY APARTMENTS OWNED BY THE RICHDALE GROUP- Vanderbilt, Builtmore or Lionshead. These people are absolute slum lords. They will try to milk you for all your worth in damages when you move out. We had to hire a lawyer just to get them to cooperate and are still fighting with them 5 years later. Look at apartmentratings in Omaha there are over 154 apartments with a better rating than all three of these places. These numbers talk pretty big about the quality of the managment and the way they treat tenants. It is quite obvious that management has been making false generic posts on this website to try to increase the ratings. Do the research and read the reviews. Beware of 5 star reviews that sound generic.

I know that you think my post was generic and that I am an employee, but I can assure you that I am not. I AM a new resident and I have nothing to complain about. I'm well aware that they are going to try to charge me when I leave ( just about every apartment complex does), but I've taken pictures and documented everything when we moved in to help protect us. I'm sure that everyone has a different experience, but I'm not going to let your bad experience dictate mine. The parking is very satisfactory. I come home every night and have at least 5 or more spaces in front of my building to choose from. Maintenance has responded to all calls that we have had, so no complaints there. There isn't any construction right now, so I don't see how that could be a problem. I rarely hear my neighbors unless they are taking a shower while I'm in the bathroom. Let's be honest, this is an apartment, so I do expect to hear them at some point! I admit that the grass isn't looking so great with the weeds right now, but I hardly think it deserves a 1 out of 5. The overall appearance is still nice. I haven't felt unsafe yet and all of our security doors are working well. The office staff has also been very helpful and answered all of our minor questions. I'm sure you won't believe that I actually live here and for safety reasons I'm not going to tell you what building I'm in. I hope you are able to resolve your issues, but don't harp on someone for telling people that not all experiences are bad!

You may have had a good experience up to now, but wait until move out. As for maintenance when I was there it was absolutely horrible. We had problems with our furnace and the sliding door lock was broken the entire time we were there. We called maintenance several times, but to no avail. We even had someone break in to our apartment(ground level) due to the broken lock on the sliding door. I have lived in 3 other apartments in omaha and have never had a problem getting my security deposit back until the vanderbilt. Not to mention they accused our apartment of having a party and the police being called out when we were out of town. We even called the police department in front of the management and they told them no police were called to the entire apartment complex on the date(or the eniter month) of the supposed noise violation. We even had over 15 alibis and three of which wrote them a letter. Nonetheless, the vanderbilt management proceeded to evict us within 24hrs on the grounds of this supposed noise violation. If I would have known my rights at the time I would have sued their pants off for wrongful eviction. Fortunately, since they wrongfully evicted us they were not able to collect any supposed damages(Carpet). DO NOT LIVE AT THE VANDERBILT THEY ARE SLUM LORDS!!! Remember there are 154 apartments in omaha with better ratings. I find it a bit odd that you are trolling around the review board still and replying to negative messages.

Vanderbilt ended up keeping my deposit ($450) and still charged me $250 above this. I felt like it was worth paying just to end it all. I posted the review about having the toilet explode. I'm just glad to be out :)
